Pre- ESOL Speaking and Listening

Course Duration: 10 x 1 day per week-  Tuesday 7pm – 9pm

Entry Requirements: Must complete an initial assessment

Course Summary:

Covers simple verbal communication including:

  • Obtaining simple information
  • Following simple instructions
  • Correct pronunciation
  • Contribute to discussions

ESOL Entry 1 - Speaking and Listening


Course Duration:
  24 weeks twice per week for 2 hours

Tuesdays & Thursdays  -1.00pm - 3.00pm  

Entry Requirements:   Must complete an initial assessment

Entry Requirements:  Must complete an initial assessment.

Course Duration:        Mondays & Thursdays  9.45 am – 12.45 pm

Course Summary:      Covers simple verbal communication including:

  • Following instructions
  • Correct pronunciation
  • Contribute to discussions

Must complete an initial assessment or have passed Entry Level 3.

Course Duration: Twice per week 3 hour class

This course is aimed at those who do not have GCSE English and is designed to improve the individual’s quality of life and their employment opportunities.

Course Duration:  2 hours x 2 days per week.

Course Summary:
Includes: Speaking & Listening, Reading and Writing.

The course is built around themes such as:
• Spelling,
• Form Filling
• Letter Writing
• Work Related Skills, such as taking messages
• Improving Communication
• Written Presentation

Maths

Course Duration:   24 weeks two days per week

Entry Requirements:  No qualifications needed, especially aimed at those who do not have GCSE Maths

Course Summary:  The aim is to improve learners’ ability to understand, calculate, manipulate and interpret mathematical information. 

Three elements are covered:

  • Number
  • Measure, Shape and Space
  • Handling data

Course Details:   This course is designed to support learners who wish to improve their Mathematical skills.  The Course follows the National Curriculum for Essential Skills at Entry Level and Level 1.
