Course Duration:   24 weeks two days per week - Monday & Wednesday.

Entry Requirements:  No qualifications needed, especially aimed at those who do not have GCSE Maths

Course Summary:  The aim is to improve learners’ ability to understand, calculate, manipulate and interpret mathematical information. 

Three elements are covered:

  • Number
  • Measure, Shape and Space
  • Handling data

Course Details:   This course is designed to support learners who wish to improve their Mathematical skills.  The Course follows the National Curriculum for Essential Skills                             at Entry Level and Level 1.

The Course Incorporates: 

  • Number including addition, subtraction, division and multiplication, fractions, decimals, calculating money, and time.
  • Measure, Shape and Space - measuring length, weight, capacity and temperatures.
  • Handling data - extract information from lists, tables, diagrams and simple charts and using a calculator.

Progression Routes:   Higher Level Essential Skills Numeracy or GCSE in Maths.
