First Steps Women’s Centre (FSWC) is seeking an experienced and compassionate video producer to record, edit, and transcribe 20–25 short video stories (5–10 minutes each) from migrant women living in Mid Ulster. These stories will capture personal migration journeys, cultural heritage, and how life has changed since arriving in Northern Ireland. The videos will form part of our ‘Heritage Journeys: Voices of Migrant Women in Mid Ulster’ project, funded by The National Lottery Heritage Fund – thanks to National Lottery players, and will be archived at the Linen Hall Library.
We are looking for someone who:
- Has proven experience in documentary or oral history filmmaking.
- Can work sensitively with participants, using trauma-informed and culturally aware approaches.
- Delivers professional-quality video, audio, subtitles, and transcripts.
- Shares our commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion.
Scope of work includes:
- Conducting respectful interviews with 20–25 women (with interpreters if needed).
- Filming to broadcast quality and editing engaging short videos.
- Adding accurate subtitles and providing transcripts.
- Supplying all raw and edited files to FSWC.
